What defines us as a good worship leader? Is it our ability to sing? Is it our ability to play an instrument? Is it our ability to write songs and record? Is it our ability to exhort the congregation during the praise and worship service? All of these things are elements of a good worship leader; however, they are not an absolute to defining one as a good worship leader. The true measure of a good worship leader begins with their ability to live a life of worship and lead by the life they live and not just their gifting and ability alone. Many lead only with their gift and their life has no character or integrity. A good worship leader is not perfect, however, they are able to learn from their mistakes and repent when they fall short of God's best for their life. The ultimate measure of a good worship leader is when God is seeking for you. David was a true example of a true worshipper. He was not perfect but he loved God and was a man after God's own heart both in the character of his heart and his pursuit for the heart of God. We must diligently seek the face and heart of God daily. This is the foundation of us being a good worship leader: Seeking God, living a life of worship and leading with our life. We must be a true worshipper before becoming a good worship leader.
